How to Make Cold Water Hash with your Bubble Now

You will need:

- Bubble Now machine
- Bubble Now bag (comes with Bubble Now machine)
- ice
- water
- Bubble Bag kit and 5 gallon bucket
- frozen plant material: leaves and flowers, do not use stems as they may damage the bag. Your Bubble Now machine can process up to 200 grams of dried plant matter at a time, or up to 500 grams of wet plant material
Usage
- Place your plant material into the Bubble Now bag. Add ice to the bag to fill it up. Zip it up, making sure the zipper is closed all the way. Place the
Bubble Now bag into the Bubble Now machine.

- Fill the Bubble Now with very cold water up to the line marked “M” on the unit. This can be done using the filler hose and your tap, but it is faster and easier for most people to just dump the water in from a bucket. Ideally the water should be chilled in your refrigerator, or pre-cooled with ice.

- Add ice to the water in the Bubble Now so that the ice water is up to the line marked “H” on the unit. At this point, you may wish to check the temperature of your water – it should be 4 degrees Celsius or less. If not, keep adding ice.

- Turn on the Bubble Now unit. You can adjust the mixing time to your desired setting. We recommend a maximum of 15 minutes. You may wish to mix for a short period of time (3 minutes) for a first run of premium quality plant extract, followed by a longer run (15 minutes) for a second run of plant extract.

- While the Bubble Now is mixing, prepare your Bubble Bag kit by placing your bags into your bucket. The bag with the smallest screen size is placed in first, then all the remaining bags in order until the largest one. If you are using our 8 bag kit, the smallest screen size is 25 microns, and the largest is 220 microns.

- When the Bubble Now has stopped mixing, there is no need to wait for settling to occur. Using the drain hose, drain the water from the Bubble Now into your Bubble Bags.

- Gently squeeze any remaining water out of the Bubble Now bag. Rinse down the inside of the Bubble Now to make sure no plant extracts are stuck to the sides – a sink sprayer or shower sprayer is useful for this step. Drain this rinse water into your Bubble Bags.

- Now you are ready to start collecting your herbal extract. From this point on, the procedure is the same as it would be if you were using your Bubble Bags without the Bubble Now machine. The following steps will assume that you are using our 8 bag kit. For more detailed instructions, go here:
- The 220 micron work bag is the first bag at the top of your bucket. Pull it out and allow the water to drain back into the remaining bags.

You can discard the contents – it is used only to catch contaminants. Be sure to always rinse all of your Bubble Bags, including the Bubble Now bag, with clean cold water immediately after use, and hang them up to dry. With proper care, your bags should last years.

- The remaining bags will contain various qualities of herbal extract, ranging from cooking grade in the 190 micron bag up to top quality herbal extract in the 90 micron, 73 micron, and 25 micron bags. Pull each bag out of the bucket and allow the water to drain back into the remaining bags.

To remove your herbal extract from the screens, turn the bag inside out and stretch it over a bowl, then scrape off the herbal extract with a spoon or a plastic card.

Sometimes it is necessary to pour a little water onto the extract to cause it to pool in the center of the screen before doing this.
Be sure to catch the water in your remaining Bubble Bags. It is also a good idea to rinse each screen back into the remaining Bubble Bags, to catch any herbal extract that was left on the screen.

- Place your extract onto the pressing screen. Fold a clean, dry tea towel or towel in half and place the pressing screen in the middle. Gently press out the moisture.

- Chop up your herbal extract on a plate or a piece of cardboard and allow it to dry. Cardboard is recommended because it helps to draw out the moisture. Be sure to allow your extract to dry completely before pressing it into bricks or balls; otherwise it can become moldy inside. Placing your extract into the freezer overnight will accelerate the drying process by drawing moisture to the surface.
